Jackie has almost 30 years experience in her Physiotherapy career. Having worked across Orthopaedic in and out patients, Rheumatology, Hydrotherapy and Musculoskeletal units in the National Health Service she began working in the private sector 14 years ago, specialising in treating sports injuries, and the sprains, strains and pains of the active population generally, of any age.
Jackie has trained with various post-graduate schools of physiotherapy, including McKenzie, Maitland and SOMM, and has more recently completed her acupuncture training. She has also trained to teach Pilates as a physiotherapist led class, and finds this a brilliant way to help rehabilitate her patients to full fitness and activity once more.
Jackie loves to swim as well as Pilates and walking, all at a very recreational pace. She also enjoys gardening and cooking, and loves to read a detective novel.
Jackie is very supportive and encouraging in our 1:4 sessions. We work quite hard but feel the benefits enormously afterwards
I have avoided surgery!
I would just like to say how pleased I am at the improvement on my hip since attending Jackie at The Oriam at Heriot Watt.I have been telling everyone and would recommend anyone attending sessions there. I am now out of pain and can do lots of everyday things that before attending physio sessions were limited and painful. My objective was to avoid any surgery which I am confident that with Jackie's guidance and method of physiotherapy I have managed to do. I have in the past for different reasons attended physiotherapy (not with Balanced) and never felt such success as I feel now. Your system of sending emails to remind clients how their exercises should be done between visits is a big plus. A huge thank you to Jackie and to Balanced.
