The first few years of Julie’s career were based in the NHS. In 2000 she did an MSc in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in Australia. She started work in private practice, briefly in Australia and then continued on her return to Edinburgh, and has worked in a couple of different Edinburgh based practices before starting at Balanced (Heriot Watt) in 2014.
Julie has gained experience in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of conditions throughout her NHS and private work. Having been involved in triathlon over a number of years she has developed an interest in treating triathlon and running related injuries. She also enjoys treating the elderly, and those with longer term rehabilitation requirements. She is qualified to practice acupuncture and uses this in addition to other techniques where relevant.
In the past Julie has competed in running and triathlon events to a reasonable level, and still takes part, though more of her time is now spent ferrying her daughters to their clubs and events. She enjoys walking, cycling to work, and generally being active.
Julie has been so supportive and always gives 100%. She quickly devised a treatment plan that has allowed me to make real positive changes in my life. I can't thank her enough.
Excellent hands on help and long lasting results. Julie listens carefully and adjusts treatment to give maximum benefit.
