Kate Swaine

Nutritional Therapist


Kate studied nutritional therapy for 3 years at Patrick Holford’s Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London and University of Bedforshire graduating in 2007. Since then she has  practised in London, on the Western Isles and Edinburgh.

Kate has worked with individuals,  run cooking classes, wellness retreats and weight management groups. She regularly presents at corporate and community level,  has written local press articles and have been interviewed on BBC TV.

 Currently  she is training with the Institute of Functional Medicine in the US and in 2017 completed the programme AFMCP (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice)  in London.

Kate works with people with many health conditions and has particular interests in: 

  • Digestive disorders (eg IBS, SIBO, IBD, food sensitivities) 
  • Hormone related symptoms (eg menopause, PMS) 
  • Autoimmune conditions 
  • Low energy
  • Low mood and anxiety

In reality, Kate is a foodie and loves cooking and making up new recipes.   Her ethos is that meals should be enjoyable as well as nutritious, and the vast majority of the time, be quick to prepare. 

Kate loves anything water related and is akeen marathon open water swimmer, training all year in the lochs and seas of Scotland.  Her long distance events only taken place in the summer!
