Senior Physiotherapist, Head of Elderly Care
"I wouldn’t have the functional capability in my arm today if it wasn’t for Benedicte’s expertise and care (and doing the exercises she suggested). She’s an amazing physio and I’m lucky to have found her."

About me
I am from Norway and came over to Scotland where I completed my physiotherapy degree in 2016. I strongly believe in hands on treatment being a part of rehabilitation. I like to keep my clients actively involved and educated throughout assessment and treatments. I find it highly important to get a greater understanding to why each component of treatment is being given, to optimize their rehabilitation.
Balanced Edinburgh are in partnership with Cramond Residence, where Benedicte is the head of the physio team. The physio team at Cramond offer residents functional fitness classes and exercise rehabilitation in aim to prevent falls, maintain mobility and independence. Neuro and post op rehabilitation is also a part of the service.
In 2021, Benedicte started her journey to specialise within vestibular rehabilitation. She is currently offering treatment for BPPV, vertigo and imbalance. She feels vestibular rehabilitation and the elderly service goes hand in hand as falls can be related to dizzy spells and vestibular deficit.
“As a health profession we have an important job to educate safe and fun exercise, I am thrilled to be able to contribute to this”.

In more recent years she has been changing her focus to specialise within the elderly care and vestibular rehabilitation. She is now the head of the elderly service here at Balanced. Benedicte spends most of her time at the Burgess treating conditions such as: osteoarthritis, post op hip/knee replacements, tendinopathy, falls preventative, BPPV/Vertigo and other MSK conditions.
