Personal Fitness MOT

Have you noticed a change in your own, your parent's, or your grandparent's functional ability? Are daily tasks becoming a struggle to complete? If so, personal fitness MOT assessments may be the perfect solution.

Our physiotherapists will take you through a variety of tests that assess exercise performance, such as the timed up and go, chair raise, and leg balance. The aim of this service is to give you a better understanding of your fitness level, encourage you to make healthy behavioural changes, and help them you to improve and maintain your functional ability and independence.

To book an appointment, please get in touch by email or phone.

1:1 Functional Fitness Sessions

We also offer 1 to 1 functional fitness sessions where we create a tailored exercise programme with movements that will work to improve strength and balance, improving your overall fitness. These sessions are an ideal precursor to build confidence before joining a group functional fitness class.

Functional Fitness Classes

At our physiotherapist-led classes, you will find exercises designed to help you with your everyday activities.

Our classes are available weekly, both in clinic and online, and they include exercises such as balance, walking, sit-to-stand, general strengthening, and mobility. Our experienced physiotherapists lead each class, providing personalised guidance and support to help you reach your goals.

1:1 Pilates Sessions

Pilates is good for bone density, circulation and rebalancing the muscles in the body. Your pilates instructor will refer back to the physio to ensure you receive only the most appropriate exercises. Using plinths to lie on and equipment such as the reformer, joints can be mobilised and muscles strengthened, even for those with arthritis in low-load bearing exercises. Take a look at our Pilates page to learn more.

Gait Analysis

For those who suffer from knee pain, back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders, the Apos® treatment programme offers a safe and effective option.

Developed by orthopaedic doctors, the Apos® treatment plan is based around a unique individually-adjusted device that is worn on the foot for around an hour a day whilst going about normal daily activities.

It is tailored specifically to those with longer-term issues in the main weight-bearing joints, such as the ankle, knee, hip and lower back, and is a great choice for people who have exhausted other treatment options such as medication, physiotherapy and podiatry, yet have seen only limited relief. Apos® is designed to provide relief from musculoskeletal disorders without the need for surgical interventions, and provides a highly convenient option for those seeking pain relief.
