Under the leadership of Luke Magee (former SRU senior physio) our team will use specialist testing kit and our personal gym space to test your function and performance. Depending on your needs we can accurately and objectively measure your ability using various tests to deliver a report to you on areas of weakness and where you can improve. Whether this is to be used in your own exercise routine or fed back to personal trainers or sports team physicians it will give you the answers as to what you need to do.
This brings Elite level sport testing to the public, delivered by elite level physiotherapists.
Our testing kit uses some specialist gym equipment in addition to:
VALD force deck testing- a dual force plate system to provide an accurate, analysis and objective measure of jumps, strength, squats, power, asymmetry and balance, whether this is for daily function or Elite sports.
VALD Dynamo testing- provides an accurate measure of range of movement and strength in joints and muscles.
Mon - Thurs: 8:30am - 8:00pm
Friday: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Saturday: 9.00am - 12pm
Sunday: Call to arrange.
"I needed physiotherapy after a few years of running and having a pain to one of my legs. Emily helped me with her huge expertise and patience, also providing a series of exercises I could do at home to stretch correctly. I'm now back to running and it is only thanks to her. Highly recommended!"
"Luke sorted out my psoas/hip issues. I’d travelled to Scotland from the US for a trip of a lifetime golf holiday and arrived with serious hip/psoas pain. Luke helped point me in the right direction, assessing and stretching my problem areas and giving me a plan for stretching and care over the course of my trip. I believe he saved my trip!"
"Following a torn ACL last year, I sought the experience from the team at Balanced prior to my surgery and the long recovery process that followed. As a professional ski coach, it was vital to have a structured recovery plan in place so I could reach my functional goals for work. The treatment I received at Balanced was excellent. I was guided through a recovery programme which saw my strength and function improve massively. Strength and power testing with the Dynamo tool and seeing the data first hand was terrific. It allowed me to see measurable improvements over time which reinforced I was on track with my recovery."
