How Balanced Podiatry & Biomechanics Works

Musculoskeletal Podiatry

Ramsay Sloss is our MSK Podiatrist. Ramsay has over 40 years of experience in Podiatry, Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Triage and Biomechanics, working jointly with professionals from several disciplines with the aim of achieving a holistic approach to treatment. Ramsay is also a high-level athlete competing at International level with GB Masters.

At an appointment, Ramsay will evaluate your foot and lower limb function to explain sources of injury. Once overloaded tissues have been identified, a rehabilitation programme will be proposed to restore normal pain-free movement or sports participation. This will involve a tailored stretching and strengthening programme to meet individual needs, often harmonised with the wearing of in-shoe devices called orthotics to accelerate this. Wearing a high-tech insole called "PODOsmart", you will walk or run for two minutes to collect data which is then transferred from the insole to the clinician. You will also be asked to perform weight and non-weight bearing tests using a custom pressure plate. All this data will be used to create your bespoke Orthotics.
